Gray & Yellow Color Challenge - Gina K Designs

I have a card today for the weekly-color-challenge on the Gina K Designs & Stamp TV page on Facebook. This weeks colors are gray and yellow. They are the new Pantone colors of the year. There is a new challenge every Tuesday.

I heat-embossed the flowers and stacked three sizes and layers with foam tape. I die-cut the sentiment using Lemon Drop cardstock. The sentiment is from the FOREVER FLOWERS collection. The flowers are from the BOLD & BLOOMING collection.

     **********
Designer Tip: To make my front panel pop, I ran all four edges across a black  ink pad. I used a pigment ink pad because the sponge is softer than a dye ink pad. Both make dark edges, but I like the look of the softer pad better.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you have a wonderful day,

Pamela

Die Cut Sentiment Challenge 3 - Gina K Designs

I created this card for the monthly challenge over at Gina K Designs. The challenge this month is to use die cut sentiments. I used stamps and dies from the FOREVER FLOWERS collection.
First, I stamped and heat embossed the flower in white onto a white cardstock panel. Next, I blended blue and purple pigment inks across the panel including the stamped area. Then, I wiped away the ink from the embossed area with a paper towel and adhered the sentiment. Being the bit of a rebel that I am 😉, I stamped an added sentiment to run up the side of the card instead of across like everyone else.
*************************
Designer Tip: Because I can't seem to part with even the smallest scraps, I had little bits to add between the stamped panel and the matting panel where I might have put sequins or gems.

Thanks so much for joining me today. There is still plenty of time to play along if you want to add your card to the list. Here is the link to the rules.

Hope you are having a great day. May the Lord be glorified by the work of my hands, Pamela

Die Cut Sentiment Challenge - 2 Gina K Designs

Looking forward to summer, I decided to create a bikini card (my own hand cut design). One of my favorite things to do is to find new, unexpected ways to use my stamps. To create a printed-fabric look, I used a lotus stamp upside down (Gina K Designs Lovely Lotus).
Designer Tip: My perfectionist side, which I don't always enjoy insists on my design being perfectly centered. So, first I stamped my lotus onto cardstock (Passionate Pink and matching ink Gina K Designs). Then, I cut out the top and bottom of the bikini as you see here.

I stamped a bow in black and die cut the sentiment.

I'm entering this card in the monthly card challenge over at Gina K Designs. There is still plenty of time to enter your own card. Here is the link to the rules. At least go look at all the cards. Some amazing artists there.
Inside sentiment is from Forever Flowers collection (Gina K Designs).
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you have a great day.
May the Lord be glorified by the work of my hands,
Pamela

Die-Cut Sentiment Challenge - Gina K Designs

Today, I have a card for the monthly challenge at Gina K Designs. The challenge here is to use a die cut sentiment. I used the sentiment and flower stamps and dies from the FOREVER FLOWERS collection.

This is also my take on using vellum panels that Gina demonstrated recently. I cut an oval "window" in my card base. Then using a scoring board, I scored lines every 1/4" across the vellum. I cut another matching windowed-panel to adhere inside the card to cover the edges of the vellum (although I think it would look fine with the edges showing).
I stamped the flowers on Gina K cardstock in Bubblegum Pink. I made my card base from Gina K heavyweight white cardstock and blended a little pink pigment around the edges with a sponge. (I really need those new brushes of hers! Guess I better do a little shopping this afternoon.)

There is still time to join in the fun. Here's a link to the Gina K Designs blog where you can see the rules.

Put on Your Red Dress Challenge, Card 2, Gina K Designs

Thanks for stopping by today! I created this card for the Put-On-Your-Red-Dress challenge at GinaK Designs. The challenge this month is to use red as the main color on your card and to have a celebratory sentiment.
This mosaic background stamp (Inspiration Mosaic) in one of my faves. I use it a lot. I stamped it in red and matted it with red cardstock. I used foam tape to secure it to the card base. The sentiment is from the Sending Love collection. I used A Happy Hello stamp set to make the roses and leaves. I love matching envelopes so of course, I did a bit of stamping there.

I fussy-cut the roses and leaves and secured the large rose and some of the leaves with foam tape. There is still plenty of time to get your cards into the challenge. Here's a link to the GinaK Designs blog - Gina K. Designs Blog - Gina K Designs
Enjoy your day and stay safe out there. May the Lord be glorified by the work of my hands,

 Pamela

Put Your Red Dress On Challenge - Gina K Designs

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
I created this card for the Put-On-Your-Red-Dress Challenge over on Gina K Designs blog. I heat-embossed the flowers using watermark ink and clear embossing powder. I created the patterned cardstock using just the watermark ink. I adhered my front panel flush with the upper left corner. I used foam tape between the two sizes of flowers and added white pearls to finish it off. The little trim on the right hand side I made from scraps. Hard for me to throw out even the tiniest pieces of cardstock.
I love matching envelopes so I used red chalk ink on my envelope.
I used Gina K BOHO FLOWERS and STIPLLED FLOWERS stamp and dies sets.
Hope you have a safe and fabulous day, Pamela

Thanks so much for stopping in! Always so nice to have you here. Today, I have  card for the Stack-a-holic Challenge at DCWV. I used the Beach House stack to create my masculine birthday card.

DESIGNER TIP: When using such an intricate die, try using wax paper between the die and the front of your cardstock. I find my dies, like the one I used here, come out much easier and with no tearing.

DCWV August Stack-a-holic Template Challenge

UpdateJust found out my card made it to the Top-10 this month at DCWV. Yay! You can see all the other Top-10 here: http://dcwvinc.blogspot.com/2013/08/august-stack-holic-top-10s.html

Thanks so much for popping in today. Always so nice to hear from you all. My card today is for DCWV's August Card Sketch Challenge. I used The Home Spun Cardstock Stack for this card. I'm really excited about how the top purple panel turned out. To begin with, some of the cardstock in this stack has a scored texture. I embossed the pre-scored purple panel using Spellbinders M-bossabilities folder EL-009. Then I ran a pigment pad (ColorBox -boysenberry) across the top of the embossed panel. In person it looks just like hand-tooled leather!
Then, for the fun part. I gathered up a bunch of my punches and started punching and stacking. I used a Hero Arts stamp (CL342) for the sentiment.
I made a card last week with an offset top panel and got so many comments about it, I wanted to use that technique again. Don't you think it adds a lot interest to the card? I love the polka-dot buttons too (Studio G ).
Hope you get to do something fun today. Maybe you want to make a card too. There's still time to join in the fun at DCWV. Here's the link for all the details and below is a copy of the sketch we had to work with: http://dcwvinc.blogspot.com/2013/08/august-stack-holic-template-challenge.html

DCWV June Stack-a-holic Card Sketch Challenge

Update: My card made the TOP-10 List again at DCWV! Check out all the winners here: http://dcwvinc.blogspot.com/2013/07/june-stack-holic-template-challenge-top.html
It is already time for another monthly challenge with DCWV! I don't know where the time goes.
I used DCWV's Homespun Cardstock Stack for this card. I love this stack and the texture of the cardstock. I cut cupcake liners from five different colors. Don't they look just like real cupcake liners!?! Using Fiskars' cloud punch, I punched 'icing' out of the white in the stack. I added sprinkles with markers of the same colors and dotted them here and there and also sprinkled the sentiment panel. I cut the candles at an angle across the yellow cardstock that matches the card base. I added a little shiny gold to light the candle. The individual glitter squares are in this same stack too! It's a great stack!
There is still plenty of time if you want to answer DCWV's challenge this month. Here's the template and address to get all the details http://dcwvinc.blogspot.com/2013/06/june-stack-holic-template-challenge.html

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love sharing my cards with you.

Birthday Card Challenge

I'm entering this card in the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. The challenge is to make a birthday card where stamping is the featured technique.
Using Tim Holtz' Playful Journey collection, I heat-embossed the old car in dark blue on a light gray cardstock panel I die cut using Labels Eighteen dies from Spellbinders. I brushed the edges of the panel with VersaMark's watermark pad. I heat-embossed the sentiment with silver pigment and clear embossing powder. Have a birthday card you've made that you want to enter? You can find the info here:  http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/06/stamp-it-cards-week-birthday-card.html

Birthday Card Challenge

I'm entering this card in the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. The challenge requires us to use stamping as the primary technique.

I used Inkadinkado's set of lace doily stamps to make this birthday card. The cardstock is from DCWV's Painted Petals stack. After heat-embossing the doilies, in white and boysenberry, I cut them into small, varing shapes and adhered them to my white card in a mosaic fashion. The sentiment stamp is from Studio G. You can join in the fun by entering your own card here: http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/06/stamp-it-cards-week-birthday-card.html
